Get in Touch

Rock County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking file. Contact the responsible government office directly for each of those needs.

Where Official Records Are Held

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is the starting point for Rock County law-enforcement and records-routing questions. Sheriff Matthew Sorenson is listed on the county page. The office lists no separate records-unit number or request form, so use the main contact and ask for the responsible authority or records custodian.

For a written Minnesota Government Data Practices Act request, identify the person and approximate booking date, state the records sought, and ask whether Rock County or Nobles County holds the responsive booking record or photograph. Minn. Stat. § 13.03 does not require a particular local form. Ask for a fee estimate before chargeable copying or staff work.

Rock County contracts jail services to Nobles County. That arrangement separates the official current-custody route from the office that can route a Rock County records request.

  • For possible current custody in the contracted jail, use the official Nobles County inmate listing. Its photo fields and update cadence were not publicly verified during research.
  • For a Rock County booking sheet, booking photo, or a released person’s historical record, contact the sheriff at the address above and ask whether Nobles County is the custodian.
  • For the result after booking, search the person’s legal name and Rock County in Minnesota Court Records Online. A case result is not a custody confirmation.
  • For a person sentenced to state prison, use the MN DOC offender search, which is separate from the Rock County booking process.
  • For federal custody or ICE detention, use the official BOP locator or ICE detainee locator. Neither is a Rock County roster.
  • For a warrant concern, contact the sheriff or court directly. The sheriff’s old warrant menu link was unavailable during research, so an outdated online entry should not be treated as proof of a current warrant.
  • For an overview of these separate channels, including the court and records-request path, use the Rock County records and custody reference.
